Application

Who can apply?

The summer school is open to all participants affiliated with institutions that have signed the contract of the action EuroFGI or that are nominated by the latter.
A limited number of places is also available for external (non-EuroFGI affiliated) participants.

 

Candidates for the summer school are expected to

 

  • hold master degree in mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering or a comparable degree in a corresponding field
  • have preliminary knowledge in at least one area of the lectures
  • demonstrate their ability to work in the field as researcher / student
  • contribute (in collaboration with others) to the success of the action EuroFGI during its further lifetime

    The application process is governed by the rules determined and approved by the organizing committee of the summer school. The evaluation of the applications will be guaranteed by the organizing committee in cooperation with national coordinators in national selection rounds as specified in the next section.

    The summer school is open to all participants affiliated with institutions that have signed the contract of the action EuroFGI or that are nominated by the latter. To guarantee a fair distribution of places, each signatory may send at most two persons to the summer school. The national coordinators will select the most promising candidates among the applicants according to the criteria given in the previous section. After the first round of the national selection processes, further available places will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. This selection process is performed by the organizing committee of the summer school. The final number of participants is limited by the latter.

    Participants from industry are invited to apply to the summer school as well. Their selection is performed by the organizing committee of the summer school.

  • Candidates kindly asked to register as early as possible. Applications can be submitted from Jul 2nd 2007 on.
